Installation view, Theodoros, sculptor - In Lieu of a Retrospective exhibition, National Museum of Contemporary Art (EMST), Athens, GR, February 2025 Nikos Arvanitis' sound installation de gustibus non disputandum est (i.e., there can be no disputing on matters of taste) focuses on a less well-known aspect of Theodoros' work, a series of radio programmes he wrote and presented through the Hellenic Broadcasting Corporation's (ERT) Third Radio Programme in the late 1980s. Taking as its starting point a suggestion by Theodoros that all radio stations play together, the work attempts to establish such a condition while reaffirming the sculptor's views on the sculptural dimension of sound and communication. Edited excerpts from Theodoros' original broadcasts are interwoven with live radio content.
